Searching for 5th Grade Math Worksheets to help your child enhance their math skills is extremely important, but the search can be frustrating. There are literally thousands of sites you’ll come across in your search, but most of them provide nothing unique. They provide the same thing…..the same old worksheets your child has been doing throughout their school career.
2) Good worksheets use a variety of formats. If you have offered a standard word search puzzle every week for the past eight weeks, kids might not get real excited with the same thing on week number nine. Instead, ask students to unscramble some words, find spelling words hidden inside a picture, supply missing letters, and correct spelling mistakes. Ask them to fit words from a word box into a puzzle-y shape. Ask kids to decode a hidden message.
In my 5th grade classroom, we use a math review series that’s engaging and entertaining at the same time. In essence they are simply halfpage handouts with ten standards based math problems woven into a special picture or exciting scene. Remember, I want to keep the math review time quick, but effective.
